I'm going to Disneyland next year, what rides have the fastpass option?

First there is no "unlimited fast pass" on your Birthday. You may be confusing that with the promotion they had last year where you get in free on your birthday. They had an option that if you already had a valid ticket you could receive a set of special fastpasses instead.



Now, how Fastpass works is that on select attractions you can use your park admission ticket to receive a one hour window of time for later in the day to return and avoid the regular line. When you do this you will still have a minimal wait, but it is generally between 5 and 10 minutes.



There are a couple of catches. First is that you are only allowed one every two hours or when your first pass becomes valid. So for example if you get a Fastpass at 10am for Space Mountain at 1:30-2:30pm you can not get another FastPass for any other attraction until 12Noon, or for Space Mountain until after 1:30pm. A second example is that if you get a FastPass for Buzz Lightyear at 3pm for 4:30-5:30pm you can get another Fastpass for any attraction anytime after 4:30pm. There is also only a limited amount of FastPasses so it is possible that a popular attraction may have all of the Fastpasses distributed by mid-afternoon or earlier.



Pirates of the Caribbean actually did have a Fastpass several years ago, but they removed that as that ride is such high capacity that they did not need it. So it is very unlikely that it will be coming back as a FastPass attraction.



They are correct about the Haunted Mansion though. It was a FastPass attraction all year but like Pirates they removed it during the regular Haunted Mansion. But it is back during Late September through New Years while it is the Nightmare Before Christmas Overlay.

Haunted Mansion does only have it Sept-Jane when the Nightmare Before Christmas overlay is up.

There is no Birthday Fastpass.

The haunted mansion only has a fast pass from late sep to jan beacuse it is transformed inot the holiday haunted mansion. Other than that it does not have a fast pass. The pirates of the carribean doesnt have a pass fast either. The line for that ride is never very long. Even in the summer the longest I had to wait was like 15 min. The haunted mansion and pirates are both rides u can walk inot basically

As far as pirates becoming a fast pass atrraction I highly doubt that. Thay have so many boats on that ride and its almost non stop. The longest I have ever waited for that ride was like 20 min. In the middle of a busy augast day at like 5 pm I got on the ride in less than 5 min. If they made it a fast pass atrattion that would be a waste. if they make any ride a fast pass they should make it be for the matterhorn! Usually always have to wait at least 30 min or more. Let me break your question down into separate parts to best answer each part of your question.



First and foremost, you DO NOT get an unlimited fast pass on your birthday. Disneyland does not offer any kind of fast pass on your birthday. In 2009 they ran a promotion called What Will You Celebrate that gave you free admission on your birthday and if you were an annual pass holder you would receive a special fast pass. The fast pass was sort of a waste, because there are not many rides at Disneyland that use fast pass. This promotion ended on December 31, 2009 and there is currently no type of unlimited fast pass promotion for your birthday.



The rides at Disneyland that have fast pass are:

The rides at Disney's California Adventure that have fast passes are:

California Screamin', Grizzly River Run, Mullhulland Madness, Soarin' Over California, and The Twilight Zone Tower Of Terror.



Having a fast pass does not let you "just walk onto rides". Instead, you have to go to the ride that you want to ride, insert your ticket into the machine, and a fast pass is printed out. That ticket has a return time on it. You then have to come back to that ride, during that exact window that is printed on the ticket to use the fast pass. Unfortunately, when it's hot and crowded you waste more time going back and forth due to fast passes then you do actually riding rides. Also, sometimes a fast pass wait turns out to be longer than the regular wait. I have seen people return to a twenty minute fast pass window, and the line for the regular wait turns out to be five or ten minutes.



Pirates of the Caribbean is not a fast pass ride and will not become one. Pirates of the Caribbean is one of the highest capacity rides at Disneyland, and even on an extremely crowded day the wait is 20 minutes or less. Pirates of the Caribbean makes the line move fast, and it does not take long to get to the front of the line. Haunted Mansion does have fast pass during the times that you mentioned, because it is transformed for the Halloween and Christmas seasons, and is considered a "special attraction". During that time (Halloween thru Christmas), the Haunted Mansion can see a line as long as 45 minutes or longer.



If you want short lines, go to your favorite rides first thing in the morning when the park opens and forget about fast passes. Save Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion for during busier times or parades when the lines will be shorter. Pirates of the Caribbean is short all day but Haunted Mansion does get busy.
