Has anyone got a clue what the "world's first" new ride at Alton Towers will be, or anyone like to hazard a guess? It's called Demon of the Dark Forest, Surrender, I think. Can't think what a world's first could be on the site it's going on which isn't very big!

It's not actually going to be called "Demon of the Dark Forest" or "Surrender" - they just use that for advertising and teasers - the name is yet to be decided. Right now, no one really knows for sure what the "world's first" is - I heard a rumor that at one part of the ride (indoors), the coaster train will sort of "drop" down (obviously in a controlled manner) - but I don't' think that's really a "world's first" as some rides already do that.

I know that Rita is going to be repainted for next year to fit in with the new coaster's theming.

Well, the ride had been made by Intamin, so we know for sure that there's going to be some sort of new element to this ride since that ride manufacturer likes to "experiment" and think out of the box. Here's a link to some new pictures - http://www.flickr.com/photos/altontowersresort/ - but sorry to say that the secret new element had really been kept secret so far! - I'm sure that the ride won't be disappointing though, even though it is in a small space as you said. I'm sure the new element will be inside - so we may have to wait for the building structure to be built.

A ride like the dropping ones, but just before it drops you it flips you upside down?, that's just a guess but it sounds fun...lol\
