The Disneyland Resort has two theme parks, Disneyland & Disney's California Adventure, & also the Downtown Disney District which has shops, restaurants, etc. & it's all free to go in & within walking distance. Disneyland is a smaller, more intimate park filled with rich history since Walt Disney roamed Main Street, U.S.A. in his slippers. Also, since there's two parks would mean a cheaper admission price.

Here's some information on tickets at the Disneyland Resort http://disneyland.disney.go.com/tickets/

Walt Disney World has 4 theme parks, two water parks & a Downtown Disney District. Here's a link for ticket information for Walt Disney World http://tickets.disney.go.com/buy/TicketTrans?storeID=DRD&tktFitterDefaultQty=ADULT=0|CHILD=0|ALL=1&lengthOfStay=7&tokens=nkNNsCFrlCtlGowhOcAPm94OseK6ygxiWf9qd1H4zxWvznvqDwlbTdxLzqun%2BSSast7ndyzcAbAuchhjJogRzgHO3IX3qmXy97Fb%2BbENCrPG69wDATJZgsk%2FxoYKeFQfhMl4XhtHMZXSUJWUB7tbYvHB%2B1zz3s7h65xXOBpAc%2B%2FVRnmlv67B1XT20T392vFhYUI%2FqhjKxkMGBi4QkoKFQAVY7CiN01WC1c4YbCEUZOu2DVCto85j1H6QQrLKAwkIWuZoj%2BQLBd7cUqvbpZzKCpGCv0qBbNzjgec9Y8mf9UAz8bld9clw032EmuakXsl5hGP%2BCz9G%2FFamHtpBS%2BKK51rIViepGVtZfMv0nuXbWCTYxxAo%2FsN1crbqtRYxxc93HaBTreon0TnoV9X9Zn5N0TjkY21QYUcPHaBTreon0TlPTbeN%2FaYMJVspk%2B%2FWk%2BRmUU0fmGmC3WasiCaNNoH5N2d6ItmHAR25n4sL9PHn5YRNMYXXOy1YUyLn2eihPLyaHyR5LdXqoYPfpx5jfinkJE583l0BFcr%2FwozFOKwhvo6HGNYisLiHXw9OqkWnkVmRxyc4UUeNGzHYic%2BbfSW1HccnOFFHjRsx3xYXzoM2byc0F%2BFaQOWFZyNqKNzo7MLyE7VllRRmOrDnR%2FLRS1%2FlRM2rNpDLKx%2F7wxwglGN8H0NHgtZuPic2qvRGHj%2BESuoDOJzO2Xwu%2BGANlQfRBdTGEeU0I99daNEFuPAxwRgZEJA%3D&drnid=4998978

Disneyworld, by far. Disneyland is much smaller with less attractions to see, but still they have great attractions, Disneyworld has more and better rides to offer though.

If your a big food fanatic disneyworld is like heaven, they have so many awsome snacks dining from all over the world. My favorite restaurant in disneyworld is Le Cellier steakhouse, in epcot. I had the best meal of my life there.

Although, i guess cost wise would be disneyland, but you can do everything there in 3 days, if you go to disneyworld it can be more like a week or a week and a half depending on how long you wanna stay and everything you plan on doing there.

Disneyworld has an excellent variety of kingdoms(sights) that Disneyland would not, like the Epcot international locations, Animal Kingdom, MGM Studios, and so that's way higher (placed in Florida vs. California). once you're planning a holiday, Disneyland will continuously be disappointing after seeing Disneyworld, yet before I went to the international, I continuously loved Disneyland and there is lots to confirm and do for days that makes the vacation merely as relaxing.

"Trying to compare Walt Disney World to Disneyland is like trying to compare a desktop computer to a laptop. What I mean is they each have there own purpose and identity and its hard to make a blanket statement that one is better than the other. They are just different.

For one thing it is extremely unfair to compare Disneyland to the entire Walt Disney World complex. Yes Disneyland is continuing to expand, but it will never be as large as WDW because it is "landlocked". Disneyland is located in the heart of Orange County California, which is a densely populated area. Disney does not own that much additional land to expand on, so they have to acquire new land each time they want to have a major expansion and this is time consuming and extremely expensive, hence the reason this is the first major expansion of the resort happened in 2001 with the opening of a second park. Where as WDW is located on over 47 square miles of property in Central Florida. Disney owns enough property that they can expand with relative ease.

Now if you want to do a comparison of the Magic Kingdom in WDW and Disneyland Park that is a more even comparison, but still not completely fair since at WDW they distribute attractions over 4 parks where as in Anaheim they only have two. To me Disneyland edges out the Magic Kingdom. The reason being it just has a "better feel" to it. It is a much smaller and more intimate park. Also it has several "Walt touches".

The two parks share several attractions, and I think the Disneyland versions are better for the most part. For example in Fantasyland both parks have a Small World attraction. The one at Disneyland has the world's fair facade, where as WDW's version looks like any other attraction (and you could miss it if it were not for the big sign). Another winner for Disneyland is Pirates of the Caribbean. The ride is longer and more detailed at Disneyland. The Magic Kingdom in Florida does have some advantages though. The castle and Main Street are much more impressive. Also Tom Sawyers island is much larger.

There are also several attractions that are unique to each park. At Disneyland you will find Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln, the Walt Disney Story, Indiana Jones, Matterhorn, Sailing Ship Columbia, Tarzan's Treehouse, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, Storybook Land Canels, Casey Junior Train, and Roger Rabbits Cartoon Spin. At the Magic Kingdom in WDW you will find: Stitch's Great Escape, Monsters Inc Laugh Floor, Tomorrowland Transit Authority, Carousal of Progress, Swiss Family Treehouse, and Hall of Presidents.(This is not the complete list, just what came to mind while writing this piece. Also be aware a couple attractions that are at Disneyland are also at other WDW parks. For example Star Tours is at the Studios and Honey I Shrunk the Audience is at EPCOT).

The other difference between the two parks is the types of visitors. The most obvious thing is that Disneyland has a higher percentage of locals. The park draws less people than WDW, with a large majority of them being people that live within a couple hour drive of the park. WDW draws many more tourists from all over the world and most fly in or have to travel a much longer distance.

So in conclusion… its really a personal preference and I definitely thing each resort is worth visiting. I think of WDW as a complete travel destination. When going there that is all I do for a week or two… you never have to leave Disney property. The Disneyland resort is working on expanding to "suck up" more of your vacation time and dollars, but its still growing. If you are a true disneygeek you need to visit both sometime in your

life."

I haven't been to Disneyland BUT I understand there are more rides than shows. But if you do Disney World they have Universal Studios (with the Harry Potter park and the Dueling Dragons ride featured on Bert the Conqueror) and Sea World and an hour or so away is Busch Gardens Tampa. With AWESOME rides

Disneyworld is bigger (more parks = more ticket cost)

Disneyland is smaller ( only one ticket can get you into both parks = cheaper ticket)

Disneyland is the original park

Where do you live? which is easier or cheaper to get to (drive vs fly)

You will have to look at it from all angles to see which is overall cheaper

I have never been to DisneyWorld, but I love Disneyland

Disney World, well only because it's bigger. Also I guess there is certain theme areas (Like Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom park etc..) And I don't remember seeing that in disney land.

But both are really close to being the same, expect one or two minor differences.

I prefer to go to Disney Land .all disney theme parks are jam packed. Expect to ride only 2 rides or less and 1 show...UNLESS you buy a fast pass for all of them which will cost you a hefty amount .Disney world from my 4th experience going there last summer was really tiring..its so big that i doubt .youd be able to visit all the attractions. unlike Disney Land wherein all the attractions are compacted .Youd be able to see more... its my 3rd time to go to disney land with my friends
