What are some of the new rides/attractions at Disney World?

I haven't been to Disney World in 10 years and this weekend, I'm going there for 2 weeks. What sorts of new rides/attractions can I expect? Are there some must-see ones? I'm interested in the NASA Mars mission ride that is supposed to simulate weightlessness in space. Has anyone been on that recently?

Go to Disneyworld.com and there is a feature where you can order maps of the parks including you chosen points of interest. I had never been there before so I just clicked on every thing and now have a wonderful suvioner (and a free one!). You can also go on youtube.com and type in the names of ride's your interested in and there are lots of postings of amatur video's of peoples experiences on the rides.

As for the mission space ride (in Epcot), it doesn't stimulate weightlessness, it stimulates take-off of a space mission. There are two versions availible for this ride, spinning and non-spinning, but I only did the spinning one. You are que'd into a room where you are put into groups of 4 and each assigned a position (engineer, pilot, etc.) and then you go into a large circular room and each group of 4 gets into their assigned "pod" (for lack of better word) and your buckled in and you seem to be in the front seat of a shuttle with a "window" that you will see the sky you are entering and then the earth when you orbit. During the "flight" each person has an assignment of pressing one of two buttons placed directly in front of them on the "control panel". Its pretty cool. The only real spinning is during "take-off" and it helps stimulate the forward motion feeling and is only about 2g's (not very much).

Ther has been a lot of additions since you've been there.

This list is going to be rather lengthy, but here it goes:



Magic Kingdom:

1) Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin - Help Buzz battle Zurg in an arcade-style ride where the more Z's you shoot with your lazer cannon, the more points you get.

2) Stitch's Great Escape - You are part of a security operation where Stitch is put under custody, with bad results.

3) The Monster's, Inc. Laugh Floor Comedy Club - Mike and the gang tell corny jokes in an interactive attraction.

4)The Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh - Ride in a honey pot on a ride based on Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day story.

5) Mickey's Philharmonic Orchestra - Arguably Orlando's best 3D attraction.

6) The Haunted Mansion - Maybe not a new attraction, but some great improvements have been made, in both visuals and much improved audio.

7) Pirates of the Carribean - Again, not new, but some great additions.



Disney Studios:

1) Rock 'n' Roller Coaster - Arguably Orlando's best coaster. My personal favorite attraction.

2) Extreme stunt show - great stadium show



Animal Kingdom:

1) Expedition Everest - Awesome new roller coaster.

2) Finding Nemo - Broadway-style play

3) Primeival Whirl - Tilt-O-Whirl meets roller coaster



Epcot:

1) Mission: Space - Incredible simulator that really makes you feel as if you're pulling major g forces

2) Turtle talk with Crush: Great interactive show. Great for kids, but adults like it too.

3) Soarin' - Great hang glider style simulator that is really a relaxing ride.

Journey into Imagination with Figment - This attraction gets tweeked every couple of years. It's OK

4) Mexican pavilion boat ride - Greatly improved attraction. Donald Duck and the Three Caballeros have been added to make this a rather amusing attraction.

10 years, well, there is a whole new theme park for one thing, Disney's Animal Kingdom. It doesn't have a lot of rides but the ones they do have are pretty cool, Expedition Everest is the new coaster, also ride Dinosaur and Kilimanjaro Safaris, see tough to be a bug and ride Kali River Rapids, Festival of the LIon King is cool also.



MGM studios has a new car stunt show, Tower of Terror has been upgraded, several times.



EPCOT has Soarin, which is a great ride, Mission space, Test track, changes in Mexico and America and I think Canada also, I believe food and wine is going on also.



Magic Kingdom has Mickey's Philharmagic which is a great 3D show. They also just did a major refurb on Haunted Mansion and its supposed to be great with new effects, scenes and audio. Pirates got Captain Jack Sparrow a year or so ago. Unfortunatly Space Mountain is worn out and needs a refurb, but theres Buzz lightyear astro blasters thats a lot of fun and Stitch's Great Escape. Timekeeper is gone and now its Monsters inc laugh factory which is an interactive show.



I recommend going to the Disney website nd looking at all the attractions and the maps so you know what you want to see most of all.

Soarin at Epcot is a MUST DO. Soarin is the best ride EVER at any park, IMO. Also, Expedition Everest at Animal Kingdom, Mickey's Phillharmagic at the Magic Kingdom, Test Track at Epcot (I forget how long it's been there), and many (not me, but others) love Rock N Roller Coaster at MGM.

I like Mission Space. Soarin is my favorite at EPCOT. Get your fast passes 1st thing. You can go to disney .com and set up an iteneary for each park and then they mail it to you. Also at EPCOT you can get free training on a segway.
