The first coaster I rode was wooden (Gwazi) and I hated it and I had the worst feeling ever. I never want to ride coasters again. I'm going back to the place I rode the wooden coaster (Busch Gardens in FL) and I have to ride Atleast 1 coaster. (the people I'm going with are making me) I'm freaking out and ive decided to ride one called Scorpion, which is supposedly The least scariest and It's metal and it goes fast and it has a loop. Would the metal be better than the wooden?

To me, there is a clear answer. Wood coasters. They provide a ton more airtime with only simple lap and seatbelt restraints, and the bumpiness adds to the awesomeness! My favorites include El Toro at Six Flags Great Adventure, Viper at Six Flags Great America, and American Eagle at Six Flags Great America. Wood coasters are also becoming steel hybrids to make a smoother ride experience but still all the fun of wood! And whoever says wood coasters can't go upside down are not correct. Son of Beast, an former roller coaster at Kings (Island?) went upside down twice with two loops. It was taken down though due to other problems. The best example of an upside down woodie is the new Outlaw Run coaster at Silver Dollar City for 2013. It flips upside down three times! One flips you upside down and then back rightside up in a turn, and the other two are double barrel rolls! Overall, I would say that wood takes home the prize for best type of coaster.

Personally, I like metal coasters more because they feel like you're going much more smooth, not bumpy. And when they go upside down it's so cool, especially inverted coasters, and wooden coasters don't do that, well most don't I think.

When they go fast, it's over in the blink of an eye and you get the adrenaline rush too. :) So I think metal are way better!

They arent metal, they are steel. Steel roller coasters are smoother and quieter than woodern roller coasters, but because metal is stronger, steel roller coasters usually go faster, higher and have loops or other elements not usually seen on wood roller coasters.

I choose steel curler coasters because of the fact they're lots smoother and that they have the aptitude to do inversions. every time i bypass on a wood curler coaster i'm getting shook around lots inflicting my lower back and neck to harm and that i'm getting a headache. I additionally sense lots safer in a steel coaster.

In my opinion, steel is better for many reasons: You can do more with it; more inversions, compacter layouts, strong theming that gets close to the track, etc. Not to say that woodies are boring or uninteresting, far from it: The crazy layouts, roughness and speed are fantastic to experience, but I still prefer a lovely steel coaster.

Metal roller coasters are better for me but the drops hurts my stomach more, but wood ones don't go upside and turn real fast and they hurt my neck.

Wooden roller coasters tend to offer rougher/bumpier rides...

I feel like metal ones provide a much smoother ride. Wood can be sort of bumpy.
